I was an Art Director for thirty years working with several major
advertising companies in Wellington and Melbourne.
I knew it was time
to branch out into a world of new ventures and broader paths of design and art
explorations. A world where I could achieve a finer and more complex social
understanding, away from all commercial constraints.
In my search for an alternative creative attitude I decided to
hone my skills in painting. This gave me a finer and more intimate ideal to
explore opening up new avenues of creative chance. I want to find new emotive
ventures that can give full scope to my transfiguration into the art world.
Painting and creating art is a tremendous charge to the soul and a very
satisfying change from a professional stance where the art commodity is based
strictly on the business incentive.
I feel I have
colour to feel, space and pattern to discover. I want to search for a real
empathy contained within the established environments in which we work and
live.”
