I first rediscovered my creative side and became passionate about carving Bone when I was at kahanui about 15 years ago. I continued to be creative, trying out different things. I continued working with bone although it was not regular work. I have since stopped working with bone for now, and am learning new things at Pablos.

I love oils and acrylics. I love the colours. After working with white Bone I often get transfixed with the colour. I also carve Oamaru stone, and am quite keen to try anything I can get my hands on. soon after this period I was bone carving at a workshop called 'unit 3' and was strongly influenced by the people around me who mainly worked with silver. I learnt so much about presentation, what people want, also all the things that go with carving, e.g. what tools and materials to use. I got inspired there, also financially challenged. I sold my carvings along with other jewellery in the street.

I like to work with Mother of Pearl as well as putting silver rivets, ebony and other materials in my work. I also used to like to stain bone in Henna.

I worked at 'Bone Works' for a while and had my jewellery for sale.
