09 FEBRUARY – 25 FEBRUARY 2012
ROAR! opens the year with its first show Good To See You, featuring the work of Charles Cunningham, Sarah Jordan and Reece Tong. This exhibition is showcasing works that have the portrait as a central theme.
Anne Marie Verbeek is also exhibiting her work under the title: Thoughts and Imagination.
Ever thought about having your portrait drawn? Charles Cunningham will be available throughout the exhibition with live portrait drawing. Charles takes between ten fifteen minutes per sitting.

Charles’s portraits reflect his direct drawing technique. Every line counts and is considered. His portraits project personality into the space, always capturing the essence of the sitter. Charles will be available for the month of February Mon to Fri between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please contact us on 04-382-8885 to book a time and be immortalised.
Ann-Marie Verbeek is an established artist and has recurring themes with figurative elements always appearing in her work. She has a naturally expressive approach to using media. Most off her content is from thoughts and imaginations, like a stream of consciousness.

“I simply play with mediums producing art doodles which are generally complete in themselves”
Says Verbeek.
Sarah Jordan’s ideas and thoughts are sourced from her imagination , so the paintings look fresh and expressive.
“I would like my acrylic paintings to convey a brightness in figures that give viewers the sense of happiness and uplifts their day.” She says.
Reece Tong is an iconic Wellington artist. His stylised, high contrast work is seen to be colonising found objects. For this show he is responding to the forms of wooden bowls and platters. His portraits bring a tribal feel framed by the bowls themselves.
Join us at the opening on thursday 09th of February.
