NEW WORK
Vincent Duncan and Bill Allan
27 Jan – 5 Feb 2011
“IMPRESSIVE EXPRESSIONISTS OPENING AT ROAR!”
Wellington’s vibrancy is again captured with thick layers of paint by self-taught artist Vincent Duncan. Using a colour palette reminiscent of his famous namesake Vincent van Gogh he builds expressive oil paintings with knife and fingers.

Expressionist painter, Bill Allan improvises in colour and paints abstracts in a style almost musical and lyrical. Featured in Elva Bett’s ‘New Zealand Art – a modern perspective’ Bett notes, ”Bill Allan has a simplicity and directness as his brush gives fauvistic likeness to his people’s faces.”
Join us at ROAR! on the opening night Thursday 27 January,
from 5.30 – 7pm to meet the artists and a glass of wine.
If the sun isn’t shining outside it will be inside!
