Welcome abroad for a tour of the weird and the wonderful at ROAR! Gallery, at the Crossover Show where we cross over to the wild side to explore what is beneath the established, the tidy, the usual way of doing things. In the Crossover Show a large group of artists explore this idea, with results as various as they are colourful.

THE CROSSOVER SHOW

Poppy Moore is back with more of her exquisitely crafted domestic kitsch works. Commercial packaging is exploited for its pattern, colour and decorative potential, literally turned upside down in the pursuit of a different vision: one which turns consumerism on its head.

Johnny de Painters works continue his dialogue about social norms and personal idiosyncrasies. This work never fails to articulate a left of centre, quirky perspective through humour and darkly inventive wit. Dysfunctional Family Unit is no exception, and fans both old and new will not be disappointed.

Sian Torrington’s newest works come out for the show, glamorous girls both alluring and confrontational. The pair of large new paintings join a recent body of work from this artist that is characterised by candy colours and a cool ‘girly’ aesthetic. We see this collage and installation artist taking a fresh direction, with results disarmingly challenging, and exquisite.

. . . and many many more

And alongside the Crossover Show…..DAVID BOYLE’s solo exhibition is as hilariously atypical as vivid, comical and expressive as the artist’s audience has come to expect.  Perhaps it’s best said in his own words: “A variety of subliminal and intoxicating works; neo Freudian, quasi-Picassonian, postmodernist and generally chaotic pieces.” Doesn’t make any sense to deny yourself a glimpse…
