5th – 21st JUNE 2008

Audrey Slater and Tara Meredith take the stage next at ROAR! gallery.  Intrigued by the ill-logicality of the darker things in life…these two clever ladies will knock you for six with their new and beautifully thought provocative pieces.

VANITY FEAR

by Audrey Slater

Vanity Fear, pokes fun at a contradictory juxtaposition of liveliness and lifelessness.  For Audrey Slater, Elvis is culturally still alive.  Amused by the Vanity paintings of the decadent 17th Century and the way we portray some of our most beloved 20th century icons her exhibition dishes out a good mix of kitsch and taboo.

PICTURES FROM STRAIGHT OUT OF

MY HEAD

by Tara Meredith

Tara Meredith confesses that a lot of her ideas come from watching far too much television.  Despite the fact the she’s constantly planning her next pictures in her mind, even she is sometimes quite surprised by the images that appear on her canvas.  This show is made up of intriguing pieces that look as if they’ve come out of some subconscious place in her head.

Both Tara and Audrey are seasoned exhibitors at ROAR! who have created a bit of a frenzy with their distinctive work.  ROAR! gallery is always committed to showing something different, something new, something odd and something true (to you).  So join us for the opening at 5.30pm on Thursday 5th June, but be warned - come early as these sultry new pieces are bound to sell fast!
