Julian Royds Predators, Human and Otherwise
Predators, Human and Otherwise features large painted roller blinds that hang from ceiling to floor like a dense forest full of ghoulish creatures. Influenced by an early career in Museum and theatre scenery design, Julian (who is in her seventies) is still painting Darkness, Storm clouds and Predatory humans in theatrical costume. |

Luke Sullivan Would you walk a mile in that persons moccasins?
Luke paints places he goes and faces he sees. As a volunteer at St Thomas’s Soup Kitchen, his work evokes feelings of loneliness, while also portraying the warmth you see when people are working together.
“St Thomas’s is a drop in centre in Newtown run by the City Mission. A lot of the people who go there are on low incomes. If you are living on your own, it’s a place to meet others. The art I have been making has been based around people who are less privileged in society” Luke says.
His sensitive choice of colour and soft atmospheres, make us look afresh at the everyday scenes and people who are so often forgotten. |
